The Grimsby Poachers were established in 2007 although a similar group had been gathered some time hence with some success. This group is open to all serving and ex-serving members of The 2nd Battalion, The Royal Anglian Regiment ( The Poachers) worldwide.
The group is linked to The Royal Anglian Regiment solely by the service by its members to the Regiment. The group exists to support members in the following way:
A method of remaining in contact with serving and ex-members of The Poachers
To create the opportunity to hold social events that incorporate significant numbers of Poachers.
To create the opportunity to meet new individuals, or those not well know, who have similar backgrounds.
To enable it’s members to receive information concerning activities, functions, tours, visits and meetings across the Regimental recruiting area.
To strive to ensure the general fostering, support and wellbeing of all members.
The Grimsby Poachers are run by a Committee of unpaid volunteers that are based in Grimsby who organise events throughout the calendar year. This Committee has sole control over finances, which functions and which charities to support. Their decision is final and binding.
